Three Decades at the Family Table
On August 14, 1994, Richard and Teresa Claborn opened a small storefront in Clovis with a simple idea — a place that served more than meals. It would be a gathering spot for the whole community.
Richard worked construction in San Francisco through the week and poured himself into the café on weekends; Teresa ran the floor seven days a week. Their kids, Jimmy and Pam, grew up between the tables. As the regulars kept coming, 45 seats became 120, and in 2009 the café rolled into its home at Shaw & Academy.
All these years later, Richard, Teresa, and their daughter Pam are still here — and the staff still feel like family.
